Deadline Date:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $20,000 to USA nonprofit domestic violence shelters to collaborate with local animal welfare organizations to build housing for pets belonging to shelter beneficiaries. Funding is available to build housing at the animal shelter facility which can be specifically reserved for animals whose owners are staying at the domestic violence shelter. Grant funds may be used to pay for building materials and supplies.

The agency housing the pets needs to be licensed to take in and care for animals, such as an existing animal shelter or rescue organization.

As there are currently no pet-friendly domestic violence shelters in Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and West Virginia, applications are especially encouraged from shelters in these states.
