Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $9,000 to Wyoming school districts and schools to support innovative anti-bullying efforts. Funding is intended for the acquisition and operation of evidence-based and programmatically mature programs that are likely to reduce bullying in schools. Programs should make the largest possible impact for reducing school bullying and increasing positive school climate and culture. Districts can apply for more than one school.

Grants may take the form of continuing with prior anti-bullying work, starting new anti-bullying work, increasing levels of mentorship or character education that can translate into reduced bullying, or starting effective innovative programs that are aimed at lowering bullying levels. Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to books, materials, travel costs, training fees, speaker fees, reimbursed time for school staff, and printing costs.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any Wyoming school or district may apply. It is necessary to have a grant administrator such as a teacher or staff member who is responsible for carrying out or overseeing the actual work of the grant.

Pre-Application Information:

The grant application is due on May 3, 2019. Initial award announcements will be made in late May or early June.

Target timeline:
a. Late February to early May 2019: Grant application period.
b. March to April 2019: Grants reviewed.
c. May 2019: Award letters mailed.
d. Summer 2019: District/School arranges with chosen provider to begin services in the fall.
e. September 2019 to April 2020: Actual program operation window.
f. December 2019: Recipients check-in with the WDE on grant progress and cost
g. March 2019 through May 2020: District/School sends reimbursement request along with invoice and grant summary report. Both are due together by May 8, 2020. Grant is closed out.
h. June 2019 will serve as a buffer month prior to the end of the fiscal year on June 30, 2019.
