Greater Jackson Arts Council (GJAC)
Grants of up to $1,500 to Hinds County, Mississippi individual artists, artist collaborations, and small artist collectives for creative arts related activities. Funding is intended to benefit residents of communities throughout the County. Selection criteria include the quality of activity, project management, financial outlook, public engagement, and good standing regarding previous awards.

The Creative Artist Grant program is open to individual artists, collaborations among individual artists and small artist collectives.
Creative Artist Grant Restrictions:
- Activities outside Jackson and Hinds County.
- Activities not related to the arts/culture or primarily religious in nature.
- Activities exclusive to private participation or programs blocking public access on the basis of income, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation or disability. (Note: Some ticketed events are eligible provided the cost to entry is modest.)
- Prize money for contests.
Applications are accepted two times a year, generally a late fall/early winter cycle and a late spring cycle. The current application period has been extended and ends on March 31, 2019.
Award status of Creative Artist Grant applications are determined within 60 days of the cycle deadline.
The fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30. Applicants are eligible for up to two cycle grants (Arts Education/Arts Therapy, Major Cultural Project, Creative Artist) during that period; however, only one application may be submitted at a time.
