Grants to Maine nonprofit organizations and municipalities in eligible areas to benefit vulnerable residents impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Funding is intended to support organizations serving populations who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and low-income individuals and families. Eligible applicants serve residents of Cumberland County.

Funds will be awarded to non-profit organizations and municipalities serving vulnerable populations most affected by emerging health, economic, and social impacts, including:

  • Individuals and families currently homeless or in imminent danger of becoming homeless due to housing insecurity, which includes difficulty paying for housing/rent costs, utilities, and other costs deemed necessary for housing; and
  • Low-income individuals and families struggling to make ends meet due to a loss in household income attributed to interruptions to work.

Additional criteria include a focus on immediate, short-term needs,  such as food and shelter, but likely would not prioritize longer-term housing and financial stability solutions.
