Grants of up to $5,000 to Iowa businesses in eligible locations to mitigate financial losses incurred due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Funding is intended for Black, indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) and immigrant-owned businesses for both short-term needs and long-term recovery efforts to continue their business. Businesses must be located in Johnson County.

This fund is intended to help businesses that have not been able to access or have been declined for local, state, or federal relief funds, or that need additional support to weather this crisis. It will be focused on businesses that may be dealing with additional barriers including but not limited to language, general business knowledge, etc. and from underserved communities.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The grant may range from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on need and number of applicants.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility:
- Private, for-profit business (sole proprietors included)
- At least 50% BIPOC or immigrant owned
- Located in the eligible area (does not need to be brick and mortar)
- Must have experienced losses due to business interruption caused by COVID-19

Pre-Application Information:

The application period opens on Monday, July 6 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, July 27. All applications will be reviewed at the same time by a selection committee and the goal is to notify applicants of the decision in early August.

Applications are submitted via the online grant system.
