Awards to Oregon organizations, individuals, and businesses for outstanding heritage-based activities and programs. The awards are intended to recognize exceptional and inspirational work that serves as an example for future efforts. Special consideration is given to the development of new ideas, approaches, and innovations.

The Sally Donovan Award for Historic Cemetery Preservation is a special category that recognizes outstanding contributions in the preservation of Oregon Historic Cemeteries.

The Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards honor those that have made the most of available resources and skills and are given for exceptional and meritorious work. Nominations are encouraged for organizations and projects of all sizes and heritage purposes and for volunteers and professionals from all heritage sectors.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations.

Previous award winners will be honored a second time only if their new work represents a major improvement above the level for which they were previously honored.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to submit nominations is January 14, 2021, by 11:59 PM.

Decisions will be made in February. Awards will be presented at the 2021 Oregon Heritage Virtual Summit, April 29-30.
