Grants of up to $10,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for programs that advance environmental sustainability and support the health of young people. The purpose of the program is to support programs that combat climate change and programs that reduce risk factors of non-communicable diseases amongst young people.
The Step Up! Global Grants Programme, provided by AstraZeneca’s Young Health Programme, empowers small, youth-focused non-profit organizations to make change happen by enabling them to increase their impact and operate at a greater scale. Step Up! provides grants to support organizations to develop and deliver effective health promotion programs – with an emphasis on under-resourced communities in low- and middle-income countries.
Climate change and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are two defining challenges of the 21st century, each posing significant threats to health and sustainable development. Innovation is needed in order to face up the climate and health challenges facing young people today. This year, the program is looking to support projects which promote environmental sustainability while at the same time reducing NCD risk factors among young people.
Step Up! always receives a high number of applications and they are unable to support all eligible organizations which apply. In selecting applications, they will prioritize a project if it:
Step Up! will select projects at a range of different innovation stages.
