Grants of up to $50,000 to Kansas nonprofit, private, and municipal sewage and water facilities for improvements and repairs to local sewer and water systems in eligible locations. Funding may be used for the planning and implementation of infrastructure design and construction projects. Priority will be given to projects that address areas of greatest need and serve those most at-risk. Applicants must serve Saline County.
The County’s plan includes funding projects to construct, improve, and repair drinking water transmission and wastewater collection and treatment; control nonpoint sources of pollution; improve resilience of infrastructure to severe weather events, including flooding; create green infrastructure; manage and treat stormwater or subsurface drainage water; facilitate water reuse; and protect waterbodies from pollution.

If more eligible projects are received than can be funded, the County may make additional funding available and award that funding to additional projects in the order of their scoring priority.
Utilizing matching funds is strongly encouraged. Projects that demonstrate matching funds will receive additional points towards the project score.

No more than 10% of the total available funds can be distributed to any single water and/or wastewater eligible project.
Implementation of the project should not extend beyond 2 years of the date of the grant award.
