Grant Description
Awards to California developers, brokers, contractors, and architects to recognize the best real estate projects and developments in eligible counties. Winners will be selected based on significance. Nominated projects must be located in the funding source's coverage area: the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, and Marin.

Every year brokers, developers, architects, contractors and others in the development community submit their biggest, best and most complex projects throughout the Bay Area for consideration in this awards program. 

The Businesses Times is also accepting nominations for two special awards this year:

  • Climate and Sustainability Innovation Award: Someone in the industry for their efforts to reduce carbon footprints, reduce and or/manage climate change and emissions
  • Building Industry Diversity Champion: Someone in the industry or an association/city/agency that has gone above and beyond to increase DEI through hiring, diversity or promoting equality and equity for all

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Every year brokers, developers, architects, contractors and others in the development community submit their biggest, best and most complex projects throughout the Bay Area for consideration in this awards program.

Deals/projects are eligible for nomination if:
- In the case of a development, the development was completed in calendar year 2022, meaning a certificate of occupancy was issued in 2022; or
- In the case of a transaction (such as a sale or lease), the transaction closed in calendar year 2022.
- Nominated projects must be located in the Business Times' coverage area: the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa and Marin counties. Projects located in San Jose, Santa Clara, Mountain View or other parts of California will NOT be considered.

The San Francisco Business Times will highlight the winners in a special publication published on March 31, 2023.
