Grants of up to $25,000 to Ohio local health departments and other agencies to support mosquito reduction initiatives. Funding is mainly intended to decrease the number of breeding habitats in artificial containers and to improve mosquito surveillance infrastructure. The program also provides funding opportunities for community education and outreach, larval control, and adult control.

The Mosquito Control Grant (MCG) Program was developed to make funding available to entities responsible for implementing mosquito control measures in support of Ohio's efforts to reduce the potential for an outbreak of mosquito-borne diseases such as Zika, West Nile, and La Cross Encephalitis.

For allowable purchases and activities, see:

  • Others (see text field entitled "Additional Eligibility Criteria" for clarification)

Additional Criteria for Eligibility
Those eligible to apply are local health departments and other government agencies such as solid waste management districts, mosquito control boards, and local government. Any government agency applying for MCG monies that is not a local health department must obtain sponsorship from a local health department demonstrated through a letter of support.
