How Can Grants Help Maintain Animal and Fishery Wildlife?
How Can Grants Help Maintain Animal and Fishery Wildlife? From wetlands to grasslands, forests, and deep-water habitats, every environment plays a role in supporting the species we depend on. Protecting animal wildlife isn’t a passive responsibility. We need conservation actions to help preserve our animal and fishery wildlife. While the opportunity to safeguard the animal life around us is an admirable choice, it’s also a decision born of necessity. It’s the practical option. Maintaining the health of our ecosystems, preserving our interconnection to wildlife (aka biodiversity), and protecting animal wildlife is essential for our food security and water supply. The bottom line: we need animal and fishery wildlife at least as much – if not more – than they need us!
GrantWatch wants to lend a helping hand to Animal Wildlife Welfare by providing a list of carefully curated grants that are currently available. Additionally, GrantWatch has nearly 600 grants in its Pets and Animal Wildlife grant listing category.
Grants and In-Kind Support for Animal and Fishery Wildlife
Funding and In-Kind Aid to Protect Water Habitats
Up to $5,000 and in-kind donations to nonprofits, groups, and businesses to conserve, protect, and restore important wildlife habitats in ponds, rivers, swamps, wetlands, and streams. Priority consideration will be for new and ongoing projects. Applications are invited from local innovative groups working to make conservation more sustainable in their community.
Funding to Promote Wildlife Habitat Protection
There are grants to foundations and conservancies to promote conservation activities. Eligible organizations will align themselves with areas of interest that include wildlife and habitat protection. The funding will be for a range of projects, including research, sustainability, species promulgation, and wildlife management.
Nonprofits to Conduct Ecological Conservation Advertising Campaigns
Grants of up to $15,000 to nonprofits for advertising campaigns to further the cause of wildland preservation. Priority consideration will be for projects likely to have an immediate and measurable impact on wildland ecosystem restoration and conservation.
Research and Education Projects on Aquatic Life
Grants to nonprofits for research and education projects focusing on aquatic life. The program goals are to achieve an increased awareness of the potential hazards posed to human and animal wildlife ecosystems as a result of climate change. This awareness, coupled with our response to these hazards to people and ecosystems, will determine the ultimate impact on coastal and ocean environments.
Grants to Enhance Animal Habitats
In addition, grants to nonprofit and for-profit organizations, agencies, tribes, IHEs, and individuals to restore, protect, and enhance eligible animal habitats. The funding supports projects involving long-term protection, restoration, and/or enhancement of wetlands and associated uplands habitats for the benefit of wetlands-associated migratory birds.
Nonprofits for Ocean Conservation Projects
Grants of up to $20,000 to nonprofits and IHEs for ocean conservation projects. The funding will be for projects supporting sustainable fishing and marine protected areas. Projects will provide a quick response to emerging conservation and ocean protection issues. The funding supports higher risk ideas at a low financial cost, engaging with small, local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) on a global scale.
Investigative Reporting Addressing Fisheries and Oceans
There are grants to journalists for investigative reporting on issues affecting fisheries and oceans worldwide. The funding will cover the costs to conduct in-depth, high-quality projects addressing underreported topics. The Funder is also interested in receiving proposals for collaborative reporting projects by teams of reporters working on ocean and fishery issues.
Grants for Animal Advocacy
Grants to organizations, groups, companies, and qualifying individuals for animal advocacy projects. The funding supports general expenses as well as specific projects benefiting animals. Priority consideration is on activities in underserved regions, projects targeting large numbers of animals, and/or activities using novel interventions.
Grants to Address Urgent Threats to Amphibians
Up to $5,000 to organizations and individuals to address urgent threats to amphibians. Funding is for crucial projects that take swift action to resolve impending threats to amphibian species or populations. Priority is given to projects that aim for immediate on-the-ground conservation efforts rather than research or studies.
Conservation Projects Focused on Apes
Grants to organizations for conservation projects focused on apes. Funding is for conservation projects, to decrease exploitation of all ape species, and to build conservation movements. The ultimate goal is to achieve conservation and respect for the great and small apes (including bonobos, chimpanzees, gibbons, gorillas, and orangutans).
Grants That Provide Support for Domestic Animals
Grants to nonprofits that provide support and resources for domestic animals. Funding supports the work of nonprofits providing food, shelter, and medical needs for dogs, cats, birds, horses, and other select pets. Applicants must care for the safety and well-being of domestic animals.
Initiatives to Protect the World’s Oceans
Grants to ocean-focused organizations for initiatives to protect the world’s oceans. Funding is for activities that focus on overfishing, offshore drilling and mining, ocean noise, microplastics and debris, marine mammals, aquatic invasives, habitat destruction, marine-protected areas, dead zones and red tides, and acidification.
Conclusion
Grants give nonprofits, researchers, journalists, and community groups the tools they need to restore habitats, respond to urgent threats, and strengthen the long-term health of both land and water ecosystems. With so many opportunities available, now is the time for organizations to take action, secure funding, and champion Animal Wildlife across our shared water habitats and beyond. GrantWatch is here to guide that journey by connecting you to the resources that help protect what matters most!
