National Garden Month Inspires Gardening and Agriculture Grants

GrantWatch is celebrating National Gardening Month with a selection of Gardening and Agriculture grants. Life is busy. Taking time to reconnect with the natural world is a good thing. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, just starting out, or a professional farmer, there’s something uniquely rewarding about planting a seed to watch it grow. Why not seize this opportunity to cultivate not only our gardens but also our connection to the earth? GrantWatch is proud to offer a range of grants aimed at supporting initiatives that promote community gardens, urban farming, environmental education, and sustainable agriculture.

There’s a Grant for That

With the rising cost of food, it’s no wonder that many families rely on their backyard garden as a way to supplement their diets and reduce spending. Imagine what might happen if neighbors got together to create community gardens that offer fresh fruits and vegetables to all. Gardening grants on the GrantWatch database offer the chance to do things like start community initiatives, bring the love for green things into the classroom for children, or study gardening or agriculture at the university level. What’s more, we should try to remember that the agricultural industry is the backbone of our society. Agricultural grants are a great way to ensure that farmers have the support needed to operate.

Gardens are not just an oasis for people. They are critical habitats for pollinators like bees, bats, birds, beetles, butterflies, and other animals. That’s one reason USDA hosted pollinators at the recent White House Easter Egg Roll and is distributing pollinator-friendly seed packets to the public donated by the Burpee Seed Co. We even have our own apiary on the roof of our Washington headquarters and a live bee-cam where you can watch our bees get ready for springtime.
