High Schoolers Football

This is kind of a cool story of a massive organization giving back to a school so that high schoolers can play football more easily. The NFL and The Raiders have awarded a grant of $250,000 to the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Clark County School District will use this grant to install synthetic turf at a Las Vegas High School. Rancho High will be the recipient of this grant funding, and this turf will make it easier for the high school students to play football. 

According to officials: “The new field will increase the safety and accessibility of the field, allowing at least a 30 percent increase in field usage”. 

Raiders President, Marc Badain had this to say about awarding the grant for this purpose: The students and athletes at Rancho High School can look forward to the installation of a new state of the art field as we continue our commitment to youth football and to our community. The advancement of football at the youth and high school levels remains a top priority for the Raiders and we are excited to introduce this field replacement program to Las Vegas”

This grant and others like it have been awarded as part of a joint-partnership between The Raiders, The National Football League (NFL), as well as Local Initiatives, Support Corporation. In total, this foundation has donated $61 million through their Grassroots Program and these funds have gone to improving on or creating over 375 fields throughout the country through the span of 2 decades.
