Grants generally ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to Massachusetts non-profit organizations that are working to advance social change for women and girls in Bristol and Plymouth Counties. These grants are intended to support programs and capacity building projects that promote leadership skills and advocacy experiences that lead girls to positive choices, higher education, and career paths where they can succeed and thrive.

The Women’s Fund is primarily interested in supporting neighborhood-based efforts that affect social change and provide services to low-income and underserved girls.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants will be made in amounts not to exceed $5,000.

Term of Contract:

Grants will typically be awarded for one year. However the Fund is interested in multi-year projects that can demonstrate impact.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- The Fund makes grants only to organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Fund does not make grants to individuals or for projects that are sectarian in nature.

- Grant applications that seek to impact policies or systems are preferred for activities that involve, are led by, or are designed by girls.

- Grant applications must be for work located within Bristol or Plymouth Counties.

Funding Eligibility:
Funds are to be used to carry out the program effort or initiative as defined in the grant proposal. The Women’s Fund considers support for program and operating costs and supports new and innovative, as well as established programs.

Funds may not be used for:
* political campaigns or promotion of candidates for public office,
* programs that promote religious activities and/or beliefs,
* advancement of capital or endowment campaigns,
* scholarships that fund individual students,
* programs that do not provide a respectful atmosphere for lesbian, gay, bisexual, questioning, and trans-gendered people or,
* co-educational programs that do not clearly communicate the specific and unique aspects for girls.

Pre-Application Information:

The application process is accomplished in two steps:

* If the request meets with approval, a full Grant Application can then be submitted. The Women’s Fund will notify those organizations that are invited to submit a full Grant Application. Full Grant Applications are to be submitted via email to:

2014 Timeline:
* Letter of Inquiry – January 17, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.
* Grant Application – February 17, 2014
* Grantees notified - Early April 2014
