Funds can be used for behavioral and psychological research related to the prevention of injuries in children and adolescents through accidents, violence, abuse, or suicide.

APF supports original, innovative research and projects. Although APF favors unique, independent work, the Foundation does fund derivative projects that are part of larger studies.

Most APF programs allow for a wide range of direct costs.  Examples include (but are not limited to): participant payments, supplies, technology expenses (software, hardware, imaging, etc.), travel to conduct research, travel to disseminate findings, stipend/salary support, course buy out and supplemental training. Budget proposals must be accompanied with a thorough justification.
