Grants to USA nonprofits for programs that benefit residents of areas where the funding source operates. Program areas include, but are not limited to, nutrition education, hunger relief, emergency services, education, and after school programs. The service area includes locations within a 20 mile radius of a Food Lion store in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Nutrition Education
Relieving hunger is not just about eliminating the choices people make when they give up food, but helping them make the right ones, too.

The Foundation supports programs that help solve hunger today, while investing in and honoring those who work toward ending hunger tomorrow for seniors, children, veterans, and families.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation limits grant awards to organizations based in or providing support in the 10 states in which they operate (within a 20 mile radius of a Food Lion store): Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Along with the completed application, applicants must submit the following documents:
- Uploaded copy of the 501(c) IRS determination letter;
- Uploaded Current 2018 W-9 form;
- Uploaded letter from the Feeding America or United Way Agency CEO certifying Feeding America or United Way affiliation in good standing.

Pre-Application Information:

Grants are focused on feeding the hungry and nutrition education and are accepted bi-annually:

- Spring: January through March 15
- Fall: July through September 15

Organizations are only eligible to apply every 12 months.

Grant proposals cannot be considered until they have been submitted via the website. The Foundation will no longer consider grant proposals submitted via mail, fax or email. Once submitted, you will receive an email acknowledgment of your submission immediately to let you know it has been received.
