Grant Description

Grants to USA nonprofit institutions to foster the study and appreciation of historical American art. Funding is intended to support programs and activities that involve presentations of new studies on American art, the preservation and restoration of American art masterpieces, and innovative museum catalogues and books.

The Wyeth Foundation for American Art provides financial support to encourage the study, appreciation, and recognition of excellence in all aspects of historic American art.

The Foundation reviews funding proposals from non-profit institutions to support research, conservation, and exhibition programming in American art. Grants from the Foundation typically support innovative exhibitions that explore new research about American art; innovative and important museum catalogues and books; and conservation and restoration of American masterpieces.

Additional Eligibility Criteria

The Wyeth Foundation for American Art reviews funding proposals from non-profit institutions. A copy of the organization’s IRS letter of determination for 501(c)(3) tax exemption must be included with the application as an attachment.

Ineligible

The Foundation does not support grant applications exclusively focused on art of the last three decades.

Pre-Application Information

Grant applications for the current grantmaking cycle should be submitted online no later than December 31, 2022 in order to be considered at the Wyeth Foundation for American Art's next scheduled Board meeting. The next meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled to be held in early February 2023.

Estimated Size of Grant

Typically, the grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 per project.

Term of Contract

Grants may extend over two or three years. There should be at least one (1) year from the submission of your grant application before the Project is scheduled to begin.
