Request a Grant Writer

Grants to New York organizations, small businesses, groups, and individuals in eligible locations for projects that improve the quality of life for local residents. Funding is intended to support small, grassroots initiatives that will contribute to increased self-sufficiency, equity, and lasting social, economic, and environmental health. Eligible projects must take place in Tompkins County.

The application requires the applicant to show how the project will:

  • Build resilience, equity, and self-sufficiency in local communities
  • Improve communities’ environmental, social, and economic health in the long term
  • Promote environmental stewardship and green practices
  • Create opportunities for leadership and civic engagement
The goal is to support and stimulate resident-based, grassroots initiatives that improve the quality of life of residents by building capacity, resilience, and leadership through collaborative projects.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants are residents of Tompkins County, including neighborhood or community organizations, small businesses, groups of neighbors with a specific project in mind, or civic-minded individuals who can show community support for their project.
