Grants to Arkansas and Oklahoma nonprofit organizations and K-12 schools to benefit communities where the funding source has a business presence. Funding is intended to support institutions, organizations, and programs that improve the quality of life and the economic well-being of eligible communities. While the Foundation will consider supporting organizations in a variety of areas, such as human services, the arts, and community development, a greater emphasis will be placed on early education – primarily math and science. Programs must be geographically located where OGE operates.

The Foundation will consider supporting organizations in a variety of areas; however, a greater emphasis will be placed on education – primarily math and science.  The Nonprofit Grants program provides support in the following areas:

  • Education: The Foundation is committed to supporting educational opportunities for K-12 students with an emphasis in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).  With the OGE Positive Energy Scholarship, they also provide graduating high school seniors, residing in the OG&E service territory, an opportunity to pursue post-secondary STEM-related degree programs.
  • Health & Human Services: The Foundation works with organizations to address the most challenging civic and human needs in local communities.
  • Community Development: The Foundation is committed to empowering the communities where they live and work, and partner with organizations to help build healthy, vibrant, and resilient communities.
  • Culture & Arts: They support culture & arts because they are essential to creating and maintaining prosperous communities.  
  • Environment: The Foundation partners with organizations that protect and restore the natural resources that communities depend on as an extension of environmental stewardship.  They work with organizations to help accomplish the goal of promoting environmental sustainability.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for grant funding consideration, organizations must meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S.-based IRS 501(c)(3) qualified charitable or educational organization or an accredited K-12 educational institution
- Be geographically located where OGE operates
- Serve communities without discrimination against any individual on the basis of race, creed, gender, age, sexual orientation, or national origin
- Have a method by which to measure, track, and report program outcomes and specific results that demonstrate measurable community impact

The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. generally does not fund grants for programs and projects associated with, but not limited to, the following:
- An individual person or families
- Building or Capital investments and improvements
- Dinners, luncheons or other forms of indirect support
- Organizations that are not 501(c)(3) organizations
- Organizations that are not geographically located in an area where OGE operates
- Political parties or candidates
- Religious activities, in whole or in part, for the purpose of furthering religious doctrine. The Foundation will consider funding faith-based organizations which provide services to all clients regardless of denomination
- Sports teams/events such as tournaments (other than Special Olympics)

OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. grant support is not available for organizations offering goods or services to employees as a benefit of grant approval (e.g., participation in golf tournaments, reservations at fundraising dinners, tickets to special events, etc.).

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to apply is January 22, 2022.

Applications are accepted year-round; however, funding decisions are made three times a year. Applications are evaluated during quarterly committee meetings based on the following dates:
- Q1: Oct. 1 - Jan. 31 (Committee Meeting in March)
- Q2: Feb. 1 - May 31 (Committee Meeting in July)
- Q3: June 1 - Sept. 30 (Committee Meeting in November)

All applications must be submitted via the OGE Energy Corp. Foundation, Inc. Online Application.

Once submitted, each grant application will go through an evaluation process, which typically takes one to three months.
