Grants of up to $10,000 to Canada PreK-12 public schools to enhance school meal programs throughout the country. The purpose of the program is to assist schools that operate existing meal programs in providing a range of tasty, high-quality meals with increased nutritional value. Funding is intended for the purchase of food and consumable supplies for daily school food programs.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

In order to receive a School Nutrition Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a publicly funded school (including First Nation, Inuit and Métis Nation run schools), for children and/or youth between junior kindergarten and the last year of high school, up to 19 years of age.
- Deliver a universally available, non-stigmatizing program to all students regardless of ability to pay.
- Operate a daily food program in the school at least four days per week; 30 weeks per year.
- Student’s must receive at least 1 serving of fruits or vegetables, plus 1 serving of whole grain or protein, based on the new version of Canada’s Food Guide and/or Canada’s Food Guide for First Nations, Inuit and Métis and adhere to all school, district/division board and/or provincial nutrition policy (where applicable).
- Provide an annual report
