Foundation for Women’s Wellness (FWW)

Grants of $25,000 to USA MD and PhD investigators at accredited academic institutions or nonprofit medical research institutions for short-term, small research projects on medical issues that affect women.
Eligible research topics must be related to the Foundation's priority areas which include:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Leading female cancers
- Hormones’ role in disease and stage-of-life health concerns, like pregnancy and menopause
- Diseases or health concerns that disproportionately afflict women
- Exploration of gender differences related to the aforementioned topics
This may include disease prevention or treatment; clarification of gender differences; and/or address quality of life concerns.
FWW favors research proposals that have direct clinical application in preventing and/or treating disease; studies with the promise of yielding results that will attract larger sources of funding for advancing study; and influencing long-term research and clinical care directions. FWW favors focused, quality study design.

Research Awards are one-time, non-recurring $25,000 awards.
Lead investigator must be an MD and/or PhD with faculty appointment of investigator, assistant professor or higher at an accredited U.S. academic institution or similar not-for-profit medical research institution.
Only one application per principal investigator (PI). There is no limit to the number of applications from any one medical institution or organization.
FWW does not fund sociological or population-related research. Applications should only be for studies that are exploring basic, clinical or epidemiological lines of inquiry.
The affiliated medical institution must accept this award on the awardees behalf with no administrative costs deducted. 100% of the award amount must go to the research study directly.
Non-overlapping financial support and existing or pending financial support necessary to complete research must be in place if FWW monies are being used as partial or supplemental funds.

ED will contact applicants via telephone or e-mail if questions or clarification are needed. Top ranking finalists and their supervisors will be interviewed via telephone.
Because the number of applications varies each year, the exact decision date is not fixed but is generally made within 3-5 months of the deadline date. Final awardees will be notified via telephone and e-mail and checks issued no later than the end of the year.
