Grants of up to $50,000 to North Dakota schools, nonprofits, and agencies for energy projects. Funding is intended for education, upgrade and installation of energy efficient devices, and use of alternative energy sources. Examples of eligible projects include replacing old or inefficient lighting systems and deploying new technology to utilize renewable energy.

The Division of Community Services makes SEP funds available to applicants for a variety of energy efficiency related activities.  These include energy education, installation of energy efficient measures (building audits, lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, etc), transportation initiatives (alternative fuel vehicles and fueling systems) and renewable energy technologies (small scale wind turbines and solar technologies).

The mission of the State Energy Program is to provide leadership to maximize the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy through technology deployment, communications and outreach activities, and access to new partnerships and resources.
