Proposed activities will take place during the annual Banned Book Week celebration.
2. Award to a Nonprofit for Outstanding Contributions to Humanitarian Aid!
There is an award to a nonprofit to recognize outstanding efforts to alleviate human suffering. The purpose of this award is to honor and recognize the efforts of the recipient organization, calling attention to the global need for humanitarian aid and encouraging others to expand their support.
3. In-Kind Book Donations to Educators and After-School Programs Benefiting Low Income Students!
In-kind book donations to schools, Title 1 educators and after-school programs benefiting low-income students. The purpose is to provide teachers with additional resources to instill in their students a love of learning and reading. Grant funding will be to order books at a discount through a partner vendor.
4. Scholarships to Caregivers of Injured Military Service Members for Higher Education Expenses!
There are scholarships to caregivers and family members of injured veterans and military service members to pursue higher education at trade schools, colleges, and universities. The funding offsets the costs of tuition, supplies, and books. The purpose of the program is to assist caregivers and spouses as they take on new, critical roles after experiencing the impact of war on their families.
5. Grants to Nonprofits and Scholars for Research Projects to Promote Animal Welfare!
Also, grants to nonprofits and individual scholars for research projects and other activities promoting animal welfare. Previously funded projects included adoption programs, animal rescue training, public awareness campaigns, and research and data websites.
6. Funding Nonprofits to Improve the Lives of At-Risk Military Veterans!
Grants to nonprofits and scholars for research projects to improve the lives of injured military veterans and their families. The funding supports a variety of services and programs, including therapeutic and recreational activities, career training and education, rehabilitation programs, homeless shelters, and supplies of mobility items.
7. Grants to Nonprofits to Provide Financial Planning Services to Underserved Populations!
Up to $40,000 to nonprofits to provide free financial guidance and services to underserved populations. The funding develops new programs and/or enhance existing programs. The goal is to help vulnerable community members by providing one-on-one pro bono financial planning sessions.
8. Funding Women’s Shelters to Support Survivors of Domestic Abuse!
In addition, grants of $20,000 to women’s shelters to provide services and support to women and children who have experienced abuse. The funding will assist organizations to provide a safe, violence-free environment for abuse survivors. The goal of the program is to help empower women to live a life free from abuse.
9. Grants to Researchers at Nonprofits to Find Cancer Treatments and Cures!
Grants to researchers affiliated with nonprofit institutions to support cancer research. The funding is for projects to find new cancer treatments or cures. Eligible applicants will be post-doctoral researchers. Priority consideration will be for researchers new to the field of cancer research and/or established research investigators examining new approaches to developing cancer cures.
10. In-Kind Donations of Water Bottles to Nonprofits Working to Improve Green Spaces!
In-kind donations of high-quality drinkware to nonprofits. Requests will be from organizations to develop, enhance, and/or increase access to parks, beaches, and green spaces. The funding source will provide water bottles as rewards for participation or stakeholder engagement.
11. Grants to Libraries to Reduce Electricity Costs!
Also, grants to libraries to reduce electricity costs. The funding is for customers of the funding source interested in installing solar panels. Priority consideration will be for libraries with relatively new roofs that can accommodate solar panel installation.
12. In-Kind Donations to Agencies, Nonprofits, and Bike Clubs to Plan and Develop Bike Trails!
Lastly, in-kind grants valued at up to $30,000 to government agencies, qualified nonprofits, and bike clubs to develop bike trails. Grantees will receive planning and consultation services to advance projects to create, enhance and protect mountain bike trails. Qualified nonprofits will be those that actively manage parks and trails.
