National Love Your Pet Day: The Top 10 Animal Grants Available

It is said that a pet is the best friend you will ever have. Not only do pets bring comfort during times of need, but they can also be great for one’s health. Having a pet can increase opportunities to get exercise and enjoy the outdoors.

There is so much to celebrate about having a pet in our lives and so much unconditional love that is unmatched. For this reason, it is important that we make sure our pets are taken care of and that other animals have the help they need to find a loving family of their own. Feb. 20 is National Love Your Pet Day. In honor of the day, GrantWatch is sharing 10 of the top grants currently available for animal welfare organizations and shelters, as well as some fun ways to celebrate the holiday.

We have also asked some of our staff to share pictures of their own pets in honor of the day. You can see these cute animals shown below.

How Can You Celebrate This Day?

  • Buy your pet a present: Maybe your pup has been eyeing a new bone or squeaky toy — Do something nice for your furry friends to show how much you care.
  • Take your pet for an extra-long walk. If your pet is walkable, they probably love walks and it will allow you to get out and enjoy nature as well.
  • Wash their bedding, even if it’s not their laundry day. Let them fluff it up just the way they like it.
  • Plan a playdate for them with another pet. Your pet will be grateful for the time to spend with another pet and will get rid of any pent-up energy.
  • Spend the whole day with them. Pets love having your undivided attention, so give it to them.
