Grants Now Available to Make Housing More Affordable

Grants are now available on GrantWatch.com to make housing more affordable. Housing costs are rising rapidly, especially when it comes to renting and insurance costs. As inflation continues to rise, housing in many places is becoming less and less affordable for more and more people. That’s why it is crucial that more options are available, especially for low-income individuals and families. Many families, including military families, struggle to afford rent or maintain a mortgage. Part of this process is making grants available to multiple stakeholders.

For this reason, we are sharing some grants today that we hope will help make a difference for both organizations and families regarding this issue.

Grants to Organizations for Housing Projects

  1. Grants are available to governments, housing authorities, and tribes for housing programs that provide reentry services to people who were formerly incarcerated.
  2. There are also grants available to nonprofits, agencies, faith-based organizations, and tribes to provide housing to veterans
  3. Nonprofits, agencies, and community-based organizations can apply for grants for projects to improve local communities. Grants can go to support housing options that increase the availability of accessible and affordable choices
  4. Funding is also available to nonprofits and schools to address economic and community development including affordable housing, education and workforce readiness, and financial wellness.

Grants to Individuals for Housing Assistance

  1. In-kind grants of special housing for first responders and military personnel. The purpose of this program is to provide smart homes for individuals severely injured while performing their duties, either during training or in combat operations.
  2. There are also in-kind grants available to wounded veterans for specially adapted custom housing.
  3. Grants are also available to households in disaster areas for recovery support.
  4. Finally, there are grants available to food service employees and their families. Funding will help with a variety of financial challenges including rent and mortgages.
