Six Nutrition Grants For The First Week of July

For those who set New Year’s resolutions involving eating better and losing weight, another look at the topic in the first week of July is a reminder that half the year has passed. View this as more opportunities, a chance to revive interest in lapsed New Year’s resolutions or just enjoy it at face value. Here are six nutrition grants available on GrantWatch:

1) Grants to U.S. and Puerto Rico nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools and libraries in eligible locations for food security programs. Interested applicants are required to contact staff prior to applying. Funding is intended to support food pantries, soup kitchens, and other programs that provide access to healthy food for the hungry. Deadline: 8/31/21

2) Grants and in-kind support to California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas school districts to promote student health and wellness. Program focus areas include nutrition education and food access, active play and physical education, and social-emotional health and risk behavior prevention. Deadline: 8/15/21

3) Grants and in-kind support to California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas school districts for nutrition education. Funding is intended to increase the demand among children and their families for healthy food choices. Deadline: 8/15/21

4) Cooperative agreements to nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and its territories to enable farmers to accept payments through nutrition programs. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Deadline: 8/23/21

5) Grants to U.S. nonprofit organizations for hunger-related programs benefiting residents in areas in which the funding source operates. Funding is intended to support initiatives to feed the hungry as well as to provide nutrition education. Applications will be accepted from eligible locations in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Deadline: 9/15/21

6) Grants of up to $10,000 to Canada PreK-12 public schools to enhance school meal programs throughout the country. The purpose of the program is to assist schools that operate existing meal programs in providing a range of tasty, high-quality meals with increased nutritional value. Deadline: 9/30/21
